The King Charles Spaniel - Introduction

The King Charles spaniel was the favourite pet of the royal house
during King Charles II and then continued to be a popular pet for the
well to do in the following centuries as well. The breed gained in
popularity thanks to its small stature, wonderful silky coat, its
intelligence and its love for human companionship and interaction. As
long as you give it the level of attention and interaction it needs,
this breed of dog will be the perfect family pet because it loves to
please its human family and it especially likes children, probably
because they would be their most intense source of interaction.

Thanks to this overwhelming need to socialize and please this breed of
dog is easy to obedience train which is an important thing to do because
sometimes they can be a little bit destructive with their energy. They
will equally enjoy when you take them out for walks as well as when
you’ll want them to rest quietly at the foot of your bed or in your lap,
because after all they are called lap dogs. Thanks to their small
stature they are easy to care for and a healthy King Charles spaniel
will eat pretty much anything that you’d think a dog might eat. |
